The funeral ritual is one of the three main life events in human tradition, and this song depicts it with a gentle tone. However, reading the lyrics, I wondered – what if it were interpreted differently? This time, with a much darker atmosphere that I felt would fit naturally into Kaligo’s repertoire and reveal a new side of the band.”
The music video was directed by the band's bassist and producer Jānis Narbuts. “While working on the song’s recording, I immediately had a vivid visual vision – the music itself dictated how it should look. Since the idea was quite daring, I had to carefully present it to the rest of the band. Luckily, I had thought it through so thoroughly that I could convincingly share my vision with both the band and the video director Jānis Štāls,” says Jānis.

The video captures the song's atmosphere in a unique blend of fantasy and reality. At its center is the dead shepherd, whose death connects the spirit world with reality, allowing a glimpse into a mystical ritual. Animal-like beings help the shepherd transition to the afterlife, while the messenger of death – the bagpiper – symbolically casts a veil of smoke over reality, summoning spirits and opening the path to the beyond. Each character has a role and mission – but are they good or evil? That is left to the viewer’s interpretation.
