Līgo and Jāņi Events in Riga 2025: From Wreath Weaving to Welcoming the Sun

This year, Riga invites residents and visitors to celebrate the summer solstice with a rich program of events.

From June 15 to 24, the capital will host both traditional and contemporary Līgo celebrations — concerts, dance performances, creative workshops, and Līgo night festivities in various parks and cultural spaces across Riga’s neighborhoods.

Riga Art Nouveau Center
Creative workshops for families with children: "All the Best for Jāņi!"
Prepare for Herb Evening by learning how to make flower compositions, choose interior decorating plants, and weave your own Jāņi wreath.

 Jāņi Night “From Sun to Sun” with folklore and post-folk groups, bonfire lighting, DJs and drumming, ending with sunrise greeting.

Dzegužkalns

Traditional Jāņi with circle dances, bonfire rituals, dancing with folklore and post-folk groups, sunrise waiting, and morning with young folk orchestra.

Mežaparks Green Theater

Riga Green Ball with Normunds Rutulis, Ainārs Bumbieris, Andris Ērglis, bands “Credo,” “Dzelzs vilks,” “Pirmais kurss,” “Crazy Dolls,” and sunrise awakening ritual.

Admission to events is free unless otherwise noted. Traditional festive foods and drinks will be available at the celebrations.
